Likes and Dislikes

Some of E's current likes:
- sleeping
- eating
- cuddling
- the pillar in our living room
- baths
- stroller rides on rough asphalt
- riding in the sling
- kisses
- seeing that food s on its way
- did I mention sleeping?

Some of E's current dislikes:
- wind
- being cold
- getting out of the bath
- when mom gets boogers out of her nose
- having her face washed
- being hungry
- having clothes pulled over her head
- waking up
- needing to poo
- Lucy licking her arms or face
- sleeping alone
- wet diapers

I know, I know...

Posts here have grown fewer and fewer in the last few weeks, I know. But I really get very little time to just sit and type these days. When Eleanor's awake I like to play with her and when she's sleeping I like to fold laundry or put away clean dishes. The little bit of time I am on line, I don't do much typing - intentionally - because most of my typing these days has to be one-handed and that's just annoying.

But life with a baby is going incredibly well. I love, love, love being her mom and nothing - not the repetitive diaper changes or the midnight feedings - has made me question that (although I think we're going to start potty training soon to end the constant barage of dirty diapers). In fact, I don't know what everyone complains about with the nighttime feedings - those are some of my favorite moments with her! It's a quiet and peaceful time when we can be together, comfy, cozy and warm and a time when I can give her something that no one else in the whole world can give her. I love the way she curls in to me, looking for sustenance and two full arms and the way she's able to find me even in the dark of night because she trusts that I will be there. I find that I enjoy motherhood more than I thought I would and it's little things like that that make me think that.
